Northwestern Virginia. --The new State Government in Northwestern Virginia is said to be carrying matters with a high hand. Carlile, Pierpont, Jackson, Harrison & Co., are playing Lincoln on a small scale, but in a spirit of truculence and cruelty which even that ferocious tyrant might envy.--Large numbers of true-hearted Virginians have been dragged from their homes and imprisoned in the Ohio Penitentiary, in Columbus, whilst hundreds have been indicted for treason before a Federal Court, under the auspices of John. J. Jackson, of Parkersburg, who styles himself Judge. The Enquirer states that hundreds of good citizens in Western Virginia have been seized and manacled, and some even put to death in the most barbarous manner by the armed bands from Ohio and the other States.
