Judge Allen, and by him presented to a meeting in Botetourt county, Va. Mr. Chamber adds to the preamble the following: And the Conference, lately held in Washington city, having failed to accomplish, to the satisfaction of this Convention, the objects of its mission, therefore this Convention declares-- 1st. That the compromise agreed upon by the majority of the Conference at Washington, fails to give assurance of that equitable, satisfactory, post and final settlement of the slavery controversy which the slaveholding States have the right to demand.
