Runaway.
--Was brought to my jail July 30th, 1863, a negro man named Wade.
He says he belongs to John Davis Wilkes, of the 6th South Carolina regiment, and came from Chester, S. C. and has stayed with the army about thirteen months, Said negro is of a dark complexion, five feet two inches high, and about twenty-seven years old; has a small sear under his right eye; says that a horse kicked him.
