The committee to investigate the alleged abuses of conscripts at Camp Lee made a report, exonerating the officer at that institution from blame. The bill to provide for the purchase and distribution of cotton, cotton varus. &c, which had been returned from the House with various amendments, was taken up.--Some of the amendments were adopted and many others disagreed to. The execution of the joint order of the day resulted in the election of Col. John N. Clark son as Superintendent of Salt. Adjourned. In the House a bill was introduced amending the law to provide for the voting by persons in the military service and refugees in counties and corporations other than those to which they belong. After the execution of the joint order of the day the House took a recess until night.
