Attempted Burglary. --We are informed that an attempt was made on Monday night to break into and rob the store of Mr. John Clash, on Book avenue. The thief bored a number of sugar holes in the front window, by which he was enabled to open it. Goods were being taken out as fast as they could be gotten at, when the noise alarmed Mr. Clash. whose appearance caused the operator to beat a rapid retreat.
