of the absence of witnesses. Wm. S. Mountcalm was required to give security to keep the peace because he had threatened to beat Julius Kracker. T. C. Turner, arraigned on the charge of interfering with people in the street while corned, was fined one dollar, and after an admonition on the impropriety of "running the blockade" was let off. John McDonald and Dennis O'Brien were arraigned on the rather serious charge of taking possession of a private carriage, the property of Mr. John Clash, who resides on Brook Avenue, and stealing an overcoat belonging to Jim, slave of said John Clash. The case without being heard on its merits, was continued until to-morrow. C. S. District Court.--Yesterday Squire, slave to John A. Dudley, who stands charged with passing counterfeit Treasury notes in six different cases, was called up for trial on indictment No. 5, of which the jury acquitted him upon hearing the evidence in the case.
