Sharks and shells. --One day during this week, little Billy Clayton and two or three others of the boys went shell hunting along the beach, near Fort McRee. They were just preparing to enter the water, at what they supposed to be a favorable spot, and little Billy had just stepped in among the waves, when a shark, four or five feet in length, darted towards him, and was only a few feet off when he reached the shore. Billy did not realize the magnitude of the danger, and gally cried out, as he came dripping from the waetr--Yonder's your old shark!" The boys came home without shells, for once.--Holly Springs (Miss.) Herald, July 12.
