General Lee has issued an order granting furloughs to those members of the South Carolina Legislature who are serving as soldiers in the Confederate States Army in that State, during the session which commenced on Monday, the 25th ult. Salt is selling in Fredericksburg at this time for $6 per sack, and the Herald says arrangements have been made for furnishing it to the citizens at that place for $5. In this city it is selling for $20 per sack. Quite a difference. Mr. John W. Gorman has retired from the editorial control of the Concord (N. C.) Flag, and is to be succeeded by Mr. Wm. M. Coleman. Mr. Gorman remains as the proprietor. Thomas S. Ashe, Esq., of Anson county, N. C., has been elected to the Confederate Congress from the 7th District by a plurality of $1 votes. A fire occurred in Union town, Ala., on the 23d ult., destroying property to the value of $30,000.
