The children's friend. --We have received a copy of a neat little paper, with the above title, printed in Richmond, intended chiefly for Sunday School use. It is well printed, and handsomely illustrated; full of matter, pleasant and instructive to children; short stories, with obvious moral, little verses, music, &c. There is nothing sectarian — nothing that would not suit any form of Christianity. We hope that it may be patronized, for this is the sort of literature, above all others, that we ought to print for ourselves. The impressions of children are the most lasting. Orders for the paper should address William D. Cooke, box 42. The office is on Main, second door from Ninth. We recommend it for Sunday School use in the city and through the State.
