The Virginia Dare.
--The report circulated on Monday that the new ship Virginia Dare had met with an accident and put back to Baltimore for repairs, was, we learn, erroneous.--After leaving Baltimore in tow of the George Peabody, the gale became so violent that it was thought beat to let go her anchor, a few miles from that port, and there she remained while the Peabody proceeded on without her, and received some slight damage in her upper works from the force of the wind, before reaching this city.
The Messrs.
Currie lost no time in chartering a steam-tug, and the Virginia Dare is expected here in tow this morning.
