Police Court. --Recorder Caskie again presided at this tribunal on yesterday, and dispatched the business before him with characteristic decision and suavity. James Clancey, who has been penned up for about a month as a witness against a man for murder, but charged with "complicity," with nothing to sustain the charge, was dismissed. Daniel, a slave of Mrs. Nancy Ellen, was ordered fifteen lashes for throwing stones in the street. Mr. Peter Lawson was fined ten dollars for permitting his son to cut and injure the trees in front of the residence of P. Johnston, Esq. Fred. Miller, a soldier, was arraigned for stealing a horse, and the case continued till this morning. In the same manner the case of John Campbell, charged with trespassing on the property of Mrs. Emma Valentine, was disposed of.

Police affairs. --On Saturday Henry Mann was arrested for drunkenness and trespassing on Mrs. Hutzier, corner of Main and 18th sts. Wm. Duesberry was taken up for riotous conduct in the street, and threats to shoot Julius Wasserman. The following arrests were made on Sunday: Daniel, slave to W. H. Caskie, for stealing coffee and lard. Thos. De Vallan for assaulting a soldier in Main street with a rock. James P. Ledger for being drunk in the street. Fifteen negroes for being in an unlawful assembly in an alley between Main and Franklin streets. The slaves were whipped, and Wm. Ross and Tom Logan (free) were sent to Court.--Jas. Webber was locked up for stealing sundry articles of wearing apparel from Jas. McAvoy, and a Catholic Bible, the whole valued at $50. Wm. Johnson, a free negro, was caged for threatening to shoot Barnet Scott a fellow darkey.
Fire. --The alarm of fire sounded about 8 o'clock last night, was caused by the burning of a farm-house located about one mile and a half north of the city Alms House. The firemen started with their apparatus, but on finding the locality of the conflagration, turned back. They had a wet time of it, starting as they did in the storm. The house burned was supposed to belong either to Dr. Deane or the estate of the late Judge Daniel.

Charles, about 25 years old; black; about 6 feet high; no marks recollected. Ned, about 21 years old; black; about 5 feet 8 inches; no marks.
