n the past two days there have been seven attempts to fire buildings in the city or vicinity, two of which have proved successful, and the destruction of a considerable amount of property is the result. Shortly before day light yesterday morning the alarm bell was again sounded, and the firemen quickly responded to the call. The fire was found to proceed from the fire residence of Mrs. E. H Dickerson, on the upper Wetumpka road, just beyond the city limits. The dwelling, together with a large portion of the furniture, out-houses, etc., were entirely destroyed. Mrs. D.'s loss is estimated at about $12,000, on which there was an insurance, as we understand, of only $3,000. We learn that the dwelling was fired is several places, and the inmate were allowed scarcely time to put on a portion of their clothing. At about two o'clock yesterday evening, the stable of B. B. Davis, corner of Bibb and Wilkinson streets, was fired; but the flames were extinguished without much damage.
