Spencer Deaton, of the 6th Tennessee (renegade) regiment, was hung in the pCallahan in a clear and distinct voice; during the reading of which Deaton stood with his hat on and gazed anxiously around him, as if expectissive invocation to God for mercy upon the unfortunate man's soul.
