Fighting. --Benjamin C. Dews and B. Jacobs were before the Mayor yesterday on a charge of fighting in an auction room. It proved to have been a case of competition in bidding for goods, and they got very much excited, and Dews struck Jacobs in the face and afterwards drew a knife upon him. The affair occurred at Digges's auction store, under the St. Charles Hotel. The Mayor required security from each in the sum of three hundred dollars to keep the peace and be of good behavior for twelve months.
