s before him yesterday, only one of whom, however, was charged with a grave offence, and be very readily proved his innocence. The one we allude to was Wm. B. Coush, charged with stealing a silver watch, valued at $30, from Edward Albus. The evidence showed that Conch showed Mrs. Albus his watch, and sold it to her for $30, she paying him $20 on it.--When the lady's husband came home he was dissatisfied with the trade, and the madam demanded the return of the money; but Coush refused to comply, promising to hand over the watch when the $10 due him was paid. There being no larceny in the affair, the accused was discharged — Ann Pettice, a woman of bad character, and a trespasser on private property, was sent to the poor-house to be provided with a home.--Thomas Donahoe, for being drunk, was held to bail.--Wm. Maighar, for being disorderly and disturbing the quiet of the neighborhood in which he resides, by vulgar language, was required to give security for his future good behavior.
