y, Jan. 17, 1862. The Senate met at 12 o'clock. Prayer by Rev. Dr. Seedy, of the Baptist Church. A communication from the House of Delegates was received, informing the Senate of the concurrence of the House on certain bills, with amendments. The amendments to the bill to incorporate the Danville Manufacturing Company were agreed to. Reports from committees. Various House bills, heretofore referred to standing committees, were reported and placed on the calendar. Mr. Douglas, from the Committee on Military Affairs, presented a report, asking to be discharged from the further consideration of a resolution relative to the more equitable apportionment of pay between the officers and privates of volunteer companies, on the ground that the subject was one within the control of the Confederate Government--The report was concurred in.
