s of King & Queen setting forth that these negroes are desperate characters; that when arrested they denied positively the charges alleged against them; but subsequently not only confessed their guilt, but disclosed a plan which had been set on foot to facilitate the stampede of nearly every slave in that section. Food, clothing and money had been collected, and a committee from among them was appointed to distribute and expend it to the best advantage. The following parties were arrested and committed to Castle Thunder yesterday on the charge of attempting to go to the enemy; James Notand, member of Arsenal battalion; D, O Donneli, company D, Second Virginia Reserves; Patrick Gant, company A, Arsenal battalion; John Dovle, company C, Nineteenth Virginia battalion; A Mehegan, Tredegar battalion; P. Farley, company A. Second Virginia Reserves, and Francis Curran, company C, Second Virginia Reserves. All the above are residents of this city, some of whom have families here.
