Mirror, we get the news that the work on the St. John's and Indian River Canal has been begun. The first spadeful of earth on the important and long-talked of work was thrown up by Col. George W. Morriss, the contractor for building the canal. Speeches were made on the occasion by Col. J. O. Duvall and Geo. Stone, Esq., and an excellent dinner was served.
