rge with feloniously assaulting and beating Wm. Douglas, was committed until the 15th instant for examination, the party who sustained the injury being unable to appear against him until that time. John Gennini was committed for further examination on the charge of breaking into D. Maroney's house, and stealing $75 in C. S. notes. Sundry potty cases of no importance were disposed of, and the Court adjourned. Circuit Court of Chesterfield County.--Monday, Nov. 10th.--Hon. Thos. S. Gholson, Judge. Thomas Williams, alias William Wits, convicted of stealing a horse valued at $500 from Samuel E. Gwynn, was sentenced to five years in the Penitentiary. The trial of John Bowhart, a member of Rodgers's cavalry, for stealing Lee Finney's watch, was postponed until the next term. Scars, for the murder of his wife, sentenced to prison for 18 years, and Williams, alias Witz, were brought to Richmond yesterday by R. W. Sill, Sheriff of Chesterfield, and put in prison.
