Captain Wilson was severely wounded in the engagement just previous to General Lee's surrender, causing his foot to be amputated. He fell into the hands of the Federals, and has been under arrest ever since. The people of Charlotte are enrolling for protection against thieves, who infest that town. Messrs. Henry A. Semley, D. L. Russell and J. J. Yales were chosen Counsellors of State. This leaves three more to elect. The Methodist Episcopal Conference of North Carolina adjourned Tuesday night last, first passing resolutions of thanks to the Bishop, the citizens of Raleigh, the railroad presidents, and to Captain Garoutte, United States Army--the latter for his kindness in furnishing ambulances. A joint resolution was adopted, Tuesday, in the Legislature, asking President Johnson to restore civil law in North Carolina.
