, and an, old and well known citizen of Petersburg, committed suicide, on the promises of H. W. Siggins, in Blandford, on Wednesday morning, by shooting himself with a pistol. The Express says: An inquest was held over the remains, when it was ascertained from the testimony of witnesses that the deceased had been in a troubled and partially deranged state of mind for some time past, and had not unfrequently threatened to take his life. He yesterday morning borrowed a revolver from Mr. Garrett, of Blandford, (who did not suspect the use to which he applied it,) and shortly afterwards told Mr. B. H. Evans that he intended to kill himself, and wished him to witness the deed. Mr. Evans remonstrated, but even while doing so the deceased drew his pistol and snapped it at his person.
