Clergyman; born in Fairton, N. J., Jan. 20, 1823; graduated at Princeton College in 1842; became a Protestant Episcopal minister in 1855; later accepted the chair of Liturgics and Canon Law in the Philadelphia Divinity School.
His publications include The formation of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States, etc.
