Dr. Smith presented a report from the Committee of the Chaplains of the Army, (read by J. C. Granberty,) of a most interesting and important character. The report recommends the appointment of twenty additional chaplains for the army, and providing ample support for them and their families. Rev. D. S. Doggett presented a resolution in regard to the appointment of a missionary to the batteries and hospitals around this city.
