We have lately had a visit, as you are doubtless aware, from the Secretaries of War and Navy. They visited all places of interest in and about the neighborhood, and their presence here has server, if an other purpose, to fill the city with rumors, the nature of when it will not do for me to communicate Suffice it to say, much excitement prevails but — we shall seessitates the companies to hill their places, in which instances many very affecting scenes were enacted, one of which I cannot refrain from giving Captain Ellfort, the very popular and gentlemanly commander of that old and staunch corps, the "Richmond Grays," from some cause felt constrained to inform his command that he could no longer lead them, and they were obliged to yield to the hard decree of what they considered cruel date, and elect some one to fill the place so long graded by their muc<
