The Niagara correspondent of the Herald, writingnder date of the 23d, with reference to the peace movement, states the following with regard to Greeley's communication with Lincoln on the subject: Several messages and communications passed which were kept perfectly secret, and were not even trusted to the mails. The result was that Greeley left for Niagara Falls, authorized to the fullest extent necessary to bring about an interview of settlement on their arrival, all else to rest with the events of the negotiations.
