credentials. The Chair stated that he had received a document after the adjournment at Columbia, which purported to be an address from a portion of the Georgia Legislature to this Convention. Laid on the table. [The address is one from the conservative members of the Georgia Legislature, asking the Convention to stay its action, for co-operation.] The Chair appointed the following committee under the resolution offered by Mr. Inglis yesterday: Messrs. Inglis, Rhett, Chesnut, Orr, Gregg, Duncan and Hutson. The committee appointed under the resolution to prepare an address to the people are Messrs. Rhett, Calhoun, Finley, Wilson, Dessausenre, Chevis and Tracy. On printing, the committee is Messrs. Quettlebum, Simmons and Kiosler. Mr. Deterville offered a resolution, inquiring into the expediency of appointing a council, consisting of five citizens of the State, to act with the Governor as counsellors and advisers, to be called the "Council of Safety." to be forth with
