Parker's Light Artillery. --The fine artillery corps raised by Dr. William W. Parker held a meeting on Friday night, and organized by the election of the following officers: William W. Parker, Captain; Sylvester J. Tucker, Senior First Lieutenant; J. Thompson Brown, Junior First Lieutenant; J. Parkinson, Senior Second Lieutenant; Peter A Franklin, Junior Second Lieutenant. The company having entrusted the Captain with the authority to appoint the Orderly Sergeant, (the chief executive officer in the company,) he has taken time to make his selection. The members elected H. W. Bolton Second Sergeant; James Jones, Third Sergeant, and J. C. Hallowell Fourth Sergeant. The complement of men secured is 125; guns, six. The battery will do good service in behalf of Southern independence.
