--An election took place for Constable in District No. 1 of Chesterfield county, on Saturday last, resulting as follows: S. T. Hancock 224, W. J. Anderson 89, Thos. Blunt 14.

His mother lives at Rev. Henry Watkins's, in Richmond, and he has a brother living near by. When last heard from he was on the James River and Kanawha canal.
