Propensity for stealing. --At an early hour on Saturday morning, a young negro named Joe, the property of Dr. Pollard, went to the store of Harris & Bro and stole a pair of five dollar boots, but was pursued and captured.--Two or three days before, Joe got twenty five for a similar offence, and by way of increasing the dose with the advance of the disease, the Mayor on this occasion ordered him thirty-nine.
1861.--Negro Hiring for 1861. --The undersigned offers his services to the public as a Hirer of Negroes for the ensuing year. His increased experience enables him confidently to promise those who engage his services, that their business will be attended to in the most satisfactory manner, and prompt returns made quarterly.
