by a paymaster in the navy, who had been arrested.--The establishment on E street near Fourteenth, said to be kept by a Dr. Hayden, was taken possession of by the Provost Guard, and Hayden was arrested and taken to the Thirteenth street prison. Rumor says that the money of the concern was deposited with him, and that a sum of between twenty-six and twenty-seven thousand dolments, (faro banks, &c.,) of this city, on Friday evening last. It seems that the Provost Marshal on that day arrested Dr. Hayden and his partner, proprietors of an up town concern, where Paymaster Gallaher, of the Navy, it is alleged, had lost a vehe defalcation may be made good by bondsmen, and the amount ($27,000) seized on Saturday in the hands of a person to whom Hayden or his friends had sent it for safe-keeping. It has not transpired whether any property of the implicated New York party
