Receiving pig iron belonging to the Confederate States. --A charge was perferred yesterday against Bridget Hayes, of receiving seventeen hundred and eighty-five pounds of pig iron, belonging to the Condederate States. The accusation was made by police officer Morris, who test fled that having reason to suspect that Government iron was secreted in her store, which is located on Byrd street, between 9th and 10th, he went there and inquired of Mrs Hayes if she had any of it for sale. Receiving a negative answer, he asked permission to search for himself and found in a back room the number of pounds above mentioned. Mrs. Hayes, in her own defence, denieMrs. Hayes, in her own defence, denied knowing anything of the iron being in her house, and was positive it had been placed there in her absence. Witnesses were called who had identified the iron as similar to that which was in use by the Government. . --On Saturday the Hustings Court of Magistrates acted upon the following cases: Jacob Eizenhower, held to bail by the Mayor for his appearance before the Hustings Court on the charge of shooting at another person, was called; but falling to answer to his name, the case was continued till the next term, and his recognizance forfeited. Louisa Langford was examined on the charge of larceny and acquitted. Christina Langford was examined and acquitted of the same charge. Bridget Hayes, charged with receiving 1,785 pounds of iron belonging to the Confederate States, knowing the same to have been stolen, was called; but from good cause shown the Court continued the case till the next term. The Court postponed the examination of testimony in the case of Henry Hungerford for keeping a faro bank till the next term, and Hungerford was recognized to appear in the sum of $5,000.
