Receiving pig iron belonging to the Confederate States. --A charge was perferred yesterday against Bridget Hayes, of receiving seventeen hundred and eighty-five pounds of pig iron, belonging to the Condederate States. The accusation was made by police officer Morris, who test fled that having reason to suspect that Government iron was secreted in her store, which is located on Byrd street, between 9th and 10th, he went there and inquired of Mrs Hayes if she had any of it for sale. Receiving a negative answer, he asked permission to search for himself and found in a back room the number of pounds above mentioned. Mrs. Hayes, in her own defence, denieMrs. Hayes, in her own defence, denied knowing anything of the iron being in her house, and was positive it had been placed there in her absence. Witnesses were called who had identified the iron as similar to that which was in use by the Government.
