Notice--absent members of Co. K, 53d Va. Reg't. --The following named members of company K, 53d Virginia regiment, are hereby notified that unless they report in person, or through their attending Surgeon, by certificate, by the 1st of August, 1862, they will be advertised as deserters, and treated as such, viz: Richard B Binns, Wm. B. Haynes, W. F Beckett, Geo. H Ealy, R W Gill, John W New, C C Woodcock, Thos New, Wm T Oakly, Jas E Vaughan, M E Binns, Wm A Fowler, H B Hopkins, F C Motzler, A C Adams, F. W Binns, Wm B Ammons, R H Marable, O P Lampkin, C D Binns, Wm H Phillips; Thos. Peyton, gentry; R B Gill, O J Gill, J A Gill, and F J Bullifant. Men absent on special duty are required to send a copy of the order detailing them on detached service. I am aware that many of the parties above named are under medical treatment, but the army regulations require that they report through their Surgeons, in order that they may be accounted for on muster rolls, returns, &c.
