24 June 1740: both of the distemper called the throat distemper. Memorials are found in the burial-place, of Mrs. Margaret Holyoke, wife to the Revd. Mr. Edward Holyoke, President of Harvard College, who died June 25, 1740, aged 39; and of William Holyoke, their youngest son, who died June 23, 1740, aged nearly three years.
