d this session, for the creation of an Ordnance Department, sent to the Senate the following nominations as officers of the Department: Capt. Charles Dimmock to be Colonel of Ordnance; Briscoe G. Baldwin to be Captain, and Capt. P. G. Coghlan, of the 179th Regiment, to be Clerk, with the rank of Captain — all most excellent nominations, and thoroughly worthy of being confirmed by the Senate, who will, at an early day, go into Executive session to consider them. The House passed a bill appropriating money to pay for printing the new edition of the Code; also, a bill amending the law authorizing the Valley Bank to establish a branch in Richmond, besides a number of unimportant local bills.
