The Legislature. In the Senate, yesterday, the joint resolution in relation to the employment of free negroes, &c., was agreed to. Also one in relation to B. F. Murray, Sheriff of Shenandoah county. A motion to institute night sessions in the Senate was disagreed to. The following bills were passed: A bill for the relief of J. C. Heiskell, Sheriff of Hampshire county. A bill for the relief of T. M. Hundley, Commissioner of the Revenue in Matthews county. A bill authorizing the receipt of the treasury notes of the Confederate States in payment of taxes and other public dues, and regulating when and how the same shall be received. The bill to provide a fund abroad for the use of the State failed for want of a constitutional majority in its favor. Ayes 22, noes 16. A bill to increase the compensation of the clerk of the Richmond Circuit Court was reported. The bill suspending the law imposing taxes for the support of Government was ordered to b
