The Legislature. In the Senate, yesterday, the joint resolution in relation to the employment of free negroes, &c., was agreed to. Also one in relation to B. F. Murray, Sheriff of Shenandoah county. A motion to institute night sessions in the Senate was disagreed to. The following bills were passed: A bill for the relief of J. C. Heiskell, Sheriff of Hampshire county. A bill for the relief of T. M. Hundley, Commissioner of the Revenue in Matthews county. A bill authorizing the receipt of the treasury notes of the Confederate States in payment of taxes and other public dues, and regulating when and how the same shall be received.
