Confederate States Congress. Monday, March 30th, 1863.
Senate--The Senate met at 2 o'clock, and was called to order by Mr. Hunter, of Va. Prayer by Rev. J. Peterkin, of the Episcopal Church.
Mr. Maxwell reported a bill to extend and amend the act the caring the pay of certain officers and employees in the Executive and Legislative Departments.
Referred to the finance Committee.
Mr. Sparrow reported a bill to exempt contractors for carrying the mails, and adverse of post- coaches and backs, from military service.
The bill was passed.
Mr. Brown presented the memorial of certain officers of the army, praying the passage of a resolution before the Senate to regulate the issue of clothing to officers in the army.
