"Fancy." --From the New York Day Book of Monday, we have the following: "Tom Sayers, the 'Champion of England,' intends visiting this country in Spring. He will come over in the steamer leaving Liverpool on the 13th of April. "Tom Hyer, the retired pugilist, is said to have the inside track for the U. S. Marshal ship. He is endorsed for the place by two of the most influential Republicans in this city. "Morrissey, the prize-fighter, it is said, will have a fat office in the New York Custom-House, for service rendered to the Republican party."

Gold was quoted on the street and at the brokers' offices in Baltimore, Monday, at $2,22 a 2.36--sales having been effected at the former rate. In New York, at half past 4 o'clock, gold was quoted at $240; but, says the Gazette, this rate is purely speculative. Government securities were weaker Virginia sixes quoted at 3; North Carolina's at 59. The New York flour market was excited on Monday, and prices were 16a26 cents per barrel higher. Wheat also advanced 5a10 cents. Guerillas are still at work in Kentucky. A reign of terror prevails along the Ohio river. Tom Hyer, the noted pugilist, is dead. Hunter has arrived in Western Virginia.
