Trial postponed.
--The trial of James M. D. Irving, indicted for forgery, which was set for yesterday in Judge Lyons's Court, was postponed on account of the absence of important witnesses and non- preparation of counsel.

--The following business was disposed of on Saturday:
James Williams, charged with larceny, (two cases,) was convicted by the jury, but the Judge reserved his sentence till this morning.
In the case of Eliza Liggon, charged with stabbing Aberdeen Cephas, a nolle prosequi was entered, and the accused sent back to the Mayor, who will give the matter a rehearing.
The Judge passed sentence upon James M. D. Irving, convicted of forgery on Thursday by the jury, and sent to the penitentiary for two years. Three other cases, pending against him, were dismissed.
He was remanded back to jail to await the decision of the Governor, upon an application made to him for a pardon.
The Court will meet again this morning.
