F. Johnson, dec'd to wit: A negro woman named Mildred, and her three children — Julia, Jimmy and Simon; Caroline, and her two children — Maria and Albert, and a negro man named William Henry. Resolved by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the President of the United States be respectfully requested to inform the Governor of the Commonwealth the object of the Government of the United States in sending said increase of the forces aforesaid, and whether, said increase of the forces aforesaid, and whether in his opinion, the object of the erection of said strongholds. (for the defence of the property of Virginia, As likely to be realized. Mr. Johnson, of Bedford, from the Joint Committee on State and Federal Relations, reported a preamble and resolutions, (published in the House proceedings of Monday,) which were laid on the table and ordered to be printed. On motion, the Senate then adjourned, at 1 o'clock, and proceeded to the House for the purpose of participating in the proceedings in honor of the Alabama Commissioners.
