An important local decision.
--An important and interesting decision has been made by Judge Hook, of the Middle circuit in Georgia.
The case was brought before the Court by B. F. Jones & Co., of Augusta, who filed a bill against Wm. F. Howell, Captain Commissary, praying for an injunction to restrain the said Howell from taking away a quantity of sugar seized by him under the impressment law until a full and fair compensation, according to the market value, should be paid.
The Judge held that the price agreed upon by the Commissioners under the law was fair and just, and as to the position assumed that the secure was unnecessary, it was a sufficient reply that "the National Legislature has declared in favor of its necessity by the passage of the law."
