Mr. Chrisman, of Ky., introduced the following resolution: Resolved ( the Senate concurring.) That the Speaker of the House of Representative and the President of the Senate adjunct their respective houses on Monday, the 16th of March, at 12 o'clock A. M. On motion of Mr. Jones, of Tenn, the resolution was laid upon the table — ayes 37, noes 35. Mr. Conrad, of Da., offered a resolution, which was agreed to, instructing the Committee on Military affairs to inquire into the expediency of increasing the pay of medical officers of the army, on duty in the field. Mr. Per ins, of La., offered a resolution, which was agreed to, instructing the Committee on the Medical Department to inquire into the expediency of so amending the law as to permit the Surgeon-Gen

Mr. McCamant, from the Committee on Propositions and Grievances, reported a bill incorporating the Virginia Gice Club, for the promotion of and the fine arts. Mr. Buras, from the Committee on Courts called up the bill staying executions in certain cases, which was read a second time and laid over. Mr. Barbour reported an amendment to the Tax bill, which was ordered to be printed. Mr. Kaoffinan, from the Committee, reported a bill prohibiting the emancipation of slaves by will. Several motions were made to adjourn upon which the ayes and noes were demanded, and it appearing that there was not a quorum present, the bell was rung and the vote again taken. The House refused to adjourn. Mr. Mallory moved that the bill transferring the State Line, as amended by the Senate be concurred in and the bill passed, which was screed to. On motion of Mr. Jones, at 4 o'clock the House adjourned.
