Belligerent. --Kate Kay was carried before the Mayor, on yesterday, and required to find surety for her good behavior for assaulting and beating Margaret Kennedy.

Arrests. --The following persons were arrested yesterday, by the civil police, for the offence set opposite their respective names, viz: Thos. Samani, by Lieutenant Beptist, for forging the name of S. H. Owers & Son to a check for $6,000; Samuel N. Shipley, by officers Bibb and Adams for firing a loaded pistol at Amelia Sales; and Simon, slave of James Denny, for shooting at Mary Haley and Margaret Kennedy. All of the parties will be brought before the Mayor this morning.
Proceedings in the Courts. Hustings Court, Tuesday, Nov. 11th. --Recorder James K Caskin, presiding.--Simon, slave of Mrs. Martha Denny, was tried for feloniously shooting at and wounding Mary Haley and Margaret Kennedy, two children, on Byrd street, a few days since. He was acquitted, no felonious intent being proved. Gilmer A. Lumpkin was examined and sent on for trial before Judge Lyons for forging S. H. Owens & Son's name to a check for $700, and drawing the money thereon. There is another charge of a similar character, only for a larger amount, ($6,000,) now pending against him. William, slave of S. D. Denoon, and Robert, slave of Sampson Jones, were tried for stealing bacon from the latter. William was ordered 39 lashes, and Robert acquitted. Roberta, slave of S. J.
