We notice the arrival in this place of Dr. Alexis Mercier, sent by the Governor of Louisiana and the "Permanent Association for the Aid and Relief of all the Sick and Wounded of our army from New Orleans." The Doctor has for his mission to visit all the Hospitals and ambulances, to ascertain what may be the wants of the sick and wounded, and to supply their wants so far as the means of the Association will permit. W. L. Lanier. Esq., of New Orleans, has also arrived here. He is sent by the Governor of Louisiana, to ascertain and supply all the wants of the Louisiana troops. Dr. Mercier is stopping at the Spotswood Hotel.
