--The Washington (Ark.) Telegraph gives the following particulars of a terrible tragedy which took place at Columbus, Hempstead county, on the 25th ult.:
William Lanier, a young gentleman of high character and moral standing, was shot and killed in a rencontre with one J. T. Young, reported to have been a notorious bad character and general nuisance.
Young was taken into custody, and during the following night was taken out by persons unknown and hung to a tree, where he was found next morning dead.
