Receiving stolen goods.
--Mary and Richard Lee were before the Mayor yesterday, to answer the charge of receiving a piece of goods stolen from John C. Shafer, knowing the same to have been stolen.
Mr. Shafer's store was entered and robbed on Mayor on a similar charge, and facts were then elicited which led to the procurement of a warrant, and the searching of Mr. Lee's house.
Officers Crone, Bibb and Adams executed the warrant, and discovered a piece of alpaca, which corresponded in every respect with a piece of goods lost by Mr. Shafer.
When officer Adams found the goods, Mrs. Lee picked it up and attempted to conceal it. Against Mr. Lee there was not a particle of evidence.
