Stealing tobacco.
--Two negroes, Jim, slave of Wm. Hawkins, and John Claiborne, free, were yesterday arrested by officer Granger, for stealing a of tobacco, worth $50, from Christian & Lee.
Three hundred dollars reward.
--Ran away, on the 6th March, my negro man John.
He is 25 years old, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, very stout built, has a round face, high forehead, full head of hair, and of good countenance, very black, and in a blacksmith, had on when he left jeans pantaloons, blue jacket, and a pair of boots; he was raised in Powhatan county by Philip St. George Cocke.
I purchased him of John R. Sedgwick in December last.
I will give the above reward for him if delivered to Lee & Bowman, Richmond, Va, or to file at Wytheville, Va. He is supposed to be making his way to the county of Powhatan. John G. Crockett. ap 2--26t
A voice from the Georgia troops in the field.
The following proceedings of the troops of Gordon's Georgia brigade (Gen. Lee's army) will be read with interest:
Camp Gordon's brigade,near Rapidan river, Va., March 30, 1864.
According to previous notice the Georgia regiments composing Gordon's brigade assembled to-day to express their confidence in, and adhesion to, the present Administration.
Very nearly the entire brigade was present and entered with spirit into the meeting.
