Sword for Governor Letcher. --At the meeting of the City Council held yesterday morning Mr. Scott offered a preamble and resolutions complimentary to the retiring Governor John Letcher, which were adopted. --The resolutions express thanks to him for his uniform and untiring devotion to the interests of the city during his occupancy of the Gubernatorial chair, especially exhibited since the commencement of the present struggle for our civil and political rights. On motion of Mr. Hill, Governor John Letcher, which were adopted. --The resolutions express thanks to him for his uniform and untiring devotion to the interests of the city during his occupancy of the Gubernatorial chair, especially exhibited since the commencement of the present struggle for our civil and political rights. On motion of Mr. Hill, it was also Resolved, That, as a further testimonial of our regard for him, a committee of three be appointed to purchase a sword and present it to him in the name of the city. The President appointed Messrs. Hill, stokes, and Walker to perform the duty.
