Wilmington, December 21. --The Federal fleet is still riding at anchor off the bar. No change. The monitors are not visible. The weather is thick, stormy and exceedingly rough outside. If the gale should cease, the enemy could not land under forty-eight hours. All quiet at Newbern. The enemy are moving up the Roanoke river, against Fort Branch. [Second Dispatch.] Wilmington, December 22. --The Federal fleets have drawn off from the shore. Only the masts of the Colorado and Wabash are visible. It is uncertain whether they have sought port or gone south. High winds and very rough sea. General Leventhorpe attacked the enemy's gunboats and barges below Poplar Point, on the Roanoke river, on Tuesday evening. The fight continued three hours. The enemy were repulsed with severe loss. They resumed the attack on yesterday, and landed some sharp-shooters. Their main fleet of gunboats and transports remains below, in attacking force.
