Abolitionism in Europe.
One of the London journals expresses surprise that while Mr. Lincoln had his hand in all abolishing he did not abolish slavery in Africa, which be might have done by a proclamation as effectually as in American.
It wou m fulmen in one case than the other.
The London editors are entirely right.
Not one more slave will be free because of Lincoln's emancipation decree, than if it had never been made.--Wherever the Federal force have penetrated the slave States, pra owed as a matter of course.
Wherever they do not penctrate slavery remains the same, and will continue to do so, though Lincoln should issue an emancipation pronunclamento every two hours. Mr. Seward's late appeal, through American ministers abroad which it cannot have if the cotton crop is out off, and without which and revolutions will be the order of the day. The last card of Lincoln, instead of helping his cause in Europe, will do more than all other agencies combined for its overthrow.
